Zipper Variable $\alpha$-Fractal Functions and Surfaces
Fractal interpolants play very vital role to get continuous representations of data arising from self-referential non-smooth functions or functions with irregular derivatives. Zipper fractal approximants generalize the existing fractal and classical approximations through its parameters signature and variable scalings. Some elementary results in the classical approximation theory are extended to the class of zipper fractal approximants. Parameter identification problems are taken to preserve fundamental shapes by zipper fractal functions. By using blending functions, some shape preserving zipper fractal surfaces are proposed.
